cessna1.jpgOne of our latest products is the new foam Cessna 206T.  We decided that we would take one out for a test flight.  We ensured that everything was stock so that we could demonstrate how the aircraft performs right out of the box.  There is an ARF version available so you can complete your own configuration, but for this test we used the RTF version that is available in stores, or right here in The Mongrel's Store.

The stock Cessna comes  with a Brushless Motor, 2 Cell Lipo and all of the radio gear installed.  It is a pretty large beast and when you start to put it together you really do start to think if it will fly on a 2 cell.  But don't be afraid... she has plenty of up and go.  She has a massive wingspan of just under 1100mm, a total length of 980mm and with an All Up Weight of about 600Gms, she has plenty of lift!

After putting her together (and there is not much to it) you start notice some really nice touches.  The first thing we noticed were the hinges.  Plastic inset hinges, not those little material ones that I have seen fail quite a few times. The aileron linkages are probably the best I have seen in an aircraft of this price tag, and the flashing LEDs on the nose set this bird off.  She also comes with a steerable nose wheel, so as you see, there is quite a bit of bang for your buck!  The 36Mhz Radio gear means you can use it on your next aircraft!

hinges.jpgIn the video below we decided to give the TX to a complete novice.  What we wanted to simulate was someone going to the shop, buying one of these and flying it!  So up stepped Nathan.  The only thing Nathan had flown was on FMS Flight Simulator.  He had NO REAL-TIME EXPERIENCE.

As you will see the plane flew beautifully.  AND YES HE REALLY IS A NOVICE!

leds.jpgWe love this Cessna and we just can't think of a better bird for the money, or a better bird if you are new to flying and want a complete 4 channel plane.  She is very stable in flight and can even handle a nice breeze.  On our next outing we are going to put it in the hands of an experienced flyer and see what she can really do!
